The Ministry Defense abolished the intelligence departments of the three branches of the armed forces, and now the army intelligence units put directly under the GRU. According to experts, it should not only enhance exploration in the rejection of the old system of control the army, but also to strengthen control over the agency.

If Intelligence departments numbered more than 20 officers from major and above and their superiors were a lieutenant-general, the personnel at the new units will not exceed six senior military officers led by a Colonel.
