The International Action Center is an organization devoted to peace, justice and human rights was founded by the former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark in 1992.
Among many other organizations, familiar with the Odessa’s trial of the young citizens of Ukraine and Russia, we express our deep concern about the condition of the interrogated and tortured in the Government’s lead prison of Odessa. Informed of the death in the police custody of Sergey Berdugin and the attempt to suicide after the inhuman interrogations by E.Danilov, we condemn such actions, legimately accepted by the Ukrainian Government into the Law.
E.Danilov, 0.Alexseev, E. Senionov, A. Gerasimov, A. Yakovenko, N. Polskaya are still subgected to these methods of the interrogation, internationally condemned by the human community after the so-called “scandal in the Abu Gharib prison in Iraq” became widely known.
The use of torture, whether by the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan or by anyone else in the world, is reprehensible to all decent people.
We protest it in our country and we protest it everywhere.
The right to an open trial is also a basic and universally recognized right.
The circumstances under which the above-mentioned citizens have been convicted violates all standards of law and justice, including those enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine.
We therefore join people of the world over the demanding that the convictions of these citizens be dismissed and the circumstances of their arrest, incarceration and trial receive an open, public investigation.
To admit and investigate a miscarrige of justice can only bring credit to the Republic of Ukraine.
And the failure to do so is also sure to receive wide, international attention.

RAMSEY CLARK: PROTEST TO THE USE OF TORTURES OF
THE POLITICAL PRISONERS IN THE ODESSA’s INTERROGATION
CENTER, (THE REPUBLIC OF UKRAINE)
I wish to add my strongest support to the words of Sara Flounders (IAC).
This tragic cast of political prisoners dying in the process of their detention in the
Odessa’a prison will cause great harm to Ukraine, if it pursues its present concealed course.
The worldwide struggle for human dignity is railing support everywhere, even more strenghtened by the threat of the US superpower crusade with the “regime changes”, failing in Yugoslavia, failing in Afghanistan, failing in Iraq, Haiti and everywhere.
Failing wars of aggression, assassinations, summary executions, detentions without trial and celebration
of torture from Abu Ghraih to Guantananto.
Concerned friends of the Ukrainian people implore its Government to publicly address this tragic trent and hold those responsible accountable and offer reparations to its victims,
Ukraine suffered already enough. It is needed in the forefront of the resistance to tyranny and support for the rights of all humanity.
The courage to publicly account in this case will place it there.
